Drink This: Brunch at Eve
No, the above is not a typo. I really am recommending brunch as a libation. But this isn’t just any brunch, it’s one Chicago’s best “drunken brunches” – a bottomless mimosa-fest of food, fun and fizzy champagne drinks.
The bottomless mimosa brunch at Eve gets bonus points because unlike most others in the city, it isn’t just available on Sunday afternoons. No, Eve offers an excuse to get toasted on mimosas and eggs throughout the weekend, offering brunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 3pm (note – you cannot drink alcohol until 11am on Sundays). And, the cost for an entree and all the champagne you want is just $20, making this one of the most affordable brunch and booze options in the city.
Classic brunch entrees are given a twist at Eve. The eggs benedict are served with succulent lobster chuncks and a pesto hollandaise. Waffles come with juicy buttermilk fried chicken in a crawfish gravy, steak and eggs are served with a bulgogi glazed hangar steak and kim chee, and the brioche french toast comes with sweet peach compote and rich mascarpone cheese.
The space is lush, with tones of black, white and grey, soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers. In summer, sit inside or on the sidewalk patio, and in winter, watch the city covered in snow from your seat in a plush booth. Eve also serves dinner five days a week, but brunch is where they really shine. Service is attentive, the food is fantastic, and you’ll never go long without a full glass of orange juice and bubbly.
